The Atami Guide Club (AGC) is a volunteer city-guide group, not a group of professional guides. It was established with our goodwill to guide mainly foreign people visiting Atami-city.
This year (2009) we have started guiding not only foreign touriists but also Japanese people who have chosen to visit Atami out of all the other towns, prefectures from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
The Club mainly consists of members who speak English. There are Chinese, Korean and other-language speakers as well.
Our goal is to assist tourists and visitors in getting good memeories and impression of Atami and to carry them their home. We hope someday they will come back to Atami again with their faimily and friends.
Tourists, strangers to Atami in need of helping hand for sightseeing or getting more information about the city, please feel free to contact us. Thank you!
ACTIVITIES
*To have foreigners join local events.
*To guide them to sightseeing spots around the city
*To have regular member meetings on the first Sunday of
every month at 3:00PM at Atami City Library.
*To take part in the annual prefectural conference for
volunteer guides
